An Elmira man is facing six charges after an alleged domestic violence incident with a woman who had an order of protection against him.
Daniel Spencer was indicted by a Chemung County grand jury on the following charges:
- Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (two counts)
- Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree (two counts)
- Harassment in the Second Degree (two counts)
According to court documents, Spencer slapped the woman in the face, grabbed her legs (which caused her to fall), hit her with a closed fit, and hit her with her cellphone.
During the incident Spencer allegedly prevented the woman from calling law enforcement.
Spencer had an order of protection ordered on June 22, 2018, that prevented him from contacting the woman until June 21, 2021.
