An Elmira man charged with a shooting on New Year’s Day of 2015 has accepted a plea deal.

Anthony Swain of Elmira pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder in the second degree Monday afternoon in the Chemung County Court.

According to Chemung County A.D.A. John Thweatt, the maximum sentence for this crime is up to 25 years in state prison.
