The Ernie Davis Community Center will host a free HIV testing day this Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This event is open to anyone who would like to be tested for HIV. It’s also to tackle any stigmas tied with the infection and teach the public, anyone can catch it.
One in four people are living with HIV without knowing it.
“New cases of HIV comes from people who are unaware of their status, unfortunately, said Physician Assistant Katie Dieterie. “They may have vague flu like symptoms or just something that might just not feel right. So I encourage everybody to get tested,” Dieterie added.
Testing is free and no appointment is needed. There will also be free giveaways and information about Prep, Pep, and U Equals U.
