We dealt with some strong to even severe storms this afternoon! Multiple reports of trees down, small hail, and even some localized flooding. Heading into the next few hours we continue to have a chance to see a light shower work in, before we dry off for a short period of time overnight! Temperatures have already cooled to around seventy and it’s feeling much more comfortable outside compared to earlier. Overnight lows will fall into the low to mid 60s. We will remain under mostly cloudy skies and patchy fog will develop late.
Unsettled weather will continue for the twin tiers as we head into the work week! We will see numerous disturbances work through our region keeping showers and thunderstorm chances in the forecast through at least midweek. Along with rain chances also dealing with the heat and humidity for the first portion of the week. Temperatures Monday will be hovering 90 with heat indices in the low 90s. Temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday will also be close to that 90 degree mark!
A cold front passage late in the day on Wednesday will usher in cooler and drier air into our area. Temperatures for the remainder of the work week will be in the mid to upper 70s, and we will not have to deal with the uncomfortable humidity. Along with the comfortable conditions we will see the return of the dry weather. Have to deal with mostly cloudy skies on Thursday before cloud cover begins to decrease during the afternoon. We will see partly to mainly sunny skies on Friday and into the weekend.
