AVERAGE HIGH FOR JANUARY 3RD: 33°
AVERAGE LOW FOR JANUARY 3RD: 17°
THURSDAY SUNRISE: 7:36 AM
THURSDAY SUNSET: 4:48 PM
A few degrees above average today, with skies gradually clearing going into the afternoon. Areas further south saw some rain during the overnight hours and some freezing rain/snow showers further north, but precipitation chances will dissipate by sunrise. High around 36.
Winds out of the south will push temperatures up into the low to mid 40s ahead of the next approaching weathermaker. Mostly clear skies throughout the day, but clouds will begin building going into the afternoon hours. Models seem to disagree about which areas will see snow vs rain and when, but the possibility exists of some rain or freezing rain for the Twin Tiers going into Friday night and Saturday.
Warmer throughout the weekend, with highs in the low 40s and lows in the low 30s. Sunday should be drier ahead of the next system arriving on Monday. Likely seeing some rain or rain/snow mixture for the beginning of the work week.
