A mainly dry start to Thursday with wake up temperatures in the lower 30s across the region, so grab the winter jacket when heading out. Winds turn out of the southeast 5-15 mph helping to usher in warmer air for the afternoon with highs near 40 degrees across the Twin Tiers.
Our next weather maker beings to move in tonight with rain chances increasing Thursday night. Some areas may start as a wintry mix as temperatures cool into the low to mid 30s overnight, this may lead to a light glazing of ice in isolated areas into early Friday before most of the area switches over to all rain.
Rain continues Friday morning becoming heavy at times. Showers will continue into Friday afternoon along with mostly cloudy skies. Southerly flow continues to bring in warmer hair with highs reaching the low to mid 50s. Showers chances will continue late with total rainfall amounts ranging from 0.5″-1.0″ possible for the region.
Chance for showers continues into the weekend, but as snow with colder air returning on the backside of Friday’s system. Highs Saturday near 40 degrees, with a windy northwest wind. Highs Sunday in the low to mid 30s, with a chance for flurries.
