AVERAGE HIGH FOR DECEMBER 30TH: 34°

AVERAGE LOW FOR DECEMBER 30TH: 17°

SUNDAY SUNRISE: 7:35 AM

SUNDAY SUNSET: 4:44 PM

A quick moving disturbance passes through the region Saturday night into early Sunday, which leads to a chance for light snow. Otherwise, clouds continue and temperatures drop into the mid to upper 20s.

Early snow comes to an end Sunday as high pressure builds over the region. Periods of clouds and sunshine for the afternoon. Southwest winds 0-10 mph, and highs reach near 40 degrees. Partly cloudy to mostly clear Sunday night, and temperatures cooling into the low to mid 20s.

Low pressure tracking from the mid south to the Ohio Valley brings our next round of rain on Monday. Plenty of moisture with this system, which should arrive late day. Winds increasing out of the south ushers in the warmer air, so expecting a mainly rain event. Still, we can’t rule out some pockets of sleet & freezing rain Monday night into early Tuesday, especially for higher elevations. Highs Monday in the low 40s, then near 40 for Monday night’s lows.

Rain continues into Tuesday, and could be heavy at times. Total rainfall of 0.5-1″ possible for the Twin Tiers. After low pressure exits, winds shift to northwest bringing in the colder air. Lingering rain showers for Tuesday, turning to a chance for light snow showers Tuesday night. Highs Tuesday in the mid to upper 40s, and lows Tuesday night in the mid to upper 20s. Colder but seasonable air through midweek with a chance for flurries.
