A disturbance moving through the region brings a chance for spotty showers into Tuesday night. Best chances to see rainfall in the Finger Lakes and east with amounts staying light. Variable clouds through the overnight and lows in the low to mid 50s.
Next frontal system approaches the region Wednesday. Chance for showers and thunderstorms increases into the afternoon. Some instability present but the Storm Prediction Center keeps us in only a risk for a passing thunderstorm, nothing strong to severe expected. Plenty of moisture available with dew points into the 60s, so some downpours are possible. Average rainfall amounts expected to stay under a 0.50″. Highs for Wednesday near 80 degrees, feeling muggy for the afternoon. Chance for showers and thunderstorms into Wednesday night and lows near 60 degrees.
Cold front passes the region for early Thursday. Lingering showers taper with decreasing clouds as dry air begins to work into the region. Highs for Thursday into the low to mid 70s. High pressure building into the region for Friday and continuing into the weekend. Sunshine returns and we stay dry. Highs Friday into the 70s, then near 80 degrees for the weekend.
