Open enrollment for healthcare begins next month and a local social services agency wants to make sure you are getting the coverage you need. 

Steuben County Office for the Aging is holding public seminars providing information on basic Medicare.  

– Monday, Sept. 25, 1:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M., Steuben County Offices Building, 3 East Pulteney Square, Bath. It’ll take place in the south conference room on the third floor.

– Tuesday, Sept. 26, 10:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M., Corning Senior Center, 1 Park Lane. 

– Thursday, Sept. 28 1:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.,  Hornell Senior Center, 20 Broadway Mall 

“People get really nervous about getting their insurance straightened out and understanding Medicare,” Office for the Aging Director Patty Baroody said. “We do some seminars ahead of time to make sure people have good information in an organized way.”

Each class is led by certified Medicare insurance counselors. More seminars will also be held in October.
