HADERA, ISRAEL – DECEMBER 12: Shredded documents and newspapers are stored before processing at the Amnir paper recycling plant December 12, 2006 in Hadera in central Israel. Amnir collects and recycles some 250 000 tons of Israel’s paper and cardboard consumption, or 25% of the 1 million tons of paper products used annually in the country. The company says they have the capacity to handle all the waste paper Israel produces but current legislation and disposal costs make it cheaper for the authorities to bury the waste rather than send it for recycling. CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) – Chemung Canal Trust Company (CCTC), in conjunction with Rogers Service Group, will host four free shredding events, beginning on Saturday, September 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at CCTC’s Corning Office, located at 149 West Market St.

The event is free for individuals to shred their confidential documents. Businesses will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Additional shredding events will take place at the following Chemung Canal offices:

· Saturday, September 21 at the Main Office in downtown Elmira

· Saturday, September 21 at the Grant Avenue Office in Auburn

· Saturday, September 28 at the Arnot Road Office in Horseheads

“Properly disposing of important papers, statements and documents is one of the easiest ways to help prevent both fraud and identity theft,” said Scott T. Heffner, CCTC Vice President & Assistant Director of Marketing. “This is our 13th year offering this free service, and it has always been well received by our customers and the community as a whole,” he added.

Mobile shredding trucks will be stationed within the bank’s parking lots and volunteers will be on-site to direct traffic to the proper drop off locations.
