Assemblyman Chris Friend won 63 percent of the vote while first time politician Bill Batrowny won 37 percent.
Both Friend and Batrowny are pleased with their campaigns. Batrowny said he wouldn’t rule out running again in the future.
“Like I say this is the first time I’ve ever run for a political office,” Batrowny said. “I think our message was strong, still not giving up, but yes I would definitely consider it.”
Friend said he’s excited to continue his work as a state assemblyman.
“I just hope that what I went out there and campaigned on resonates with the community,” Friend said. “Looking for a smaller government, lower regulations and lower taxes. It’s all about keeping our families here, keeping them strong and being able to support our middle class and try to keep more money in our pockets.”
