Habitat for Humanity recruiting volunteers for clean-up

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Chemung County Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH) is recruiting 100 volunteers to roll up their sleeves and lend a hand to neighbors during a Community Clean-Up Day set for August 10, 2019 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Volunteers will help with landscaping, trash pick-up and minor painting in a neighborhood near Grove Park, along West 4th, West 5th and Clinton Streets between Davis and Columbia Streets.

The public is invited to participate in this family-friendly event and be part of the improvements planned for Elmira.

Volunteers must register by August 2nd with Chemung County Habitat for Humanity through their Facebook page event, or by email info@chemungcountyhabitat.org or by phone (607) 734- 1361.

West 4th Street from Davis to Columbia will be blocked off for Chemung County non-profit organizations to set up and share information about the services they offer.

These organizations are invited to register for free with CCHFH by August 2nd. Registration forms are available by emailing info@chemungcountyhabitat.org.
