Meet the Candidates Night
Tonight the Chemung County Federation of Sportsmen will be holding a “Meet the Candidates” night at the Big Flags Community Center at 6:00pm. The event is open the public, regardless of if you are in the federation or not. All candidates for the County Legislature and all 3 candidates for County Executive.
Fire Department Open House
As part of this year’s Fire Prevention Week, the West Elmira Fire Dept. is hosting an open house tonight from 5:00pm.-7:00pm. There will be plenty of fun and of course, educational opportunities for both parents and kids, including a live burn demonstration at the end of the night. 
Free Community Nutrition Class
Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital is hosting a free community nutrition class today from 5:00pm -6:30pm. The class is presented by the hospital’s Food and Nutrition Department. It will be held in the Patterson Auditorium on Guthrie’s campus in Sayre. Attendees will learn how to make healthier food choices by working through a series of interactive activities, including a cooking demonstration. The class is open to the public, but seating is limited. Call 570-887-4415 to reserve a seat or register online. 
Ribbon Cutting
As part of the Elmira Heights School Board meeting tonight, there will be a ribbon cutting for the newly completed Pre-K wing at Cohen Elementary School. That will take place tonight at 7:00pm.
