Hardinge Inc. appoints new CEO

Hardinge Incorporated, a leading international provider of advanced metal-cutting solutions and accessories based in Elmira, announced that the board of directors has appointed a new chief executive officer

Charles P. Dougherty will be the new President and CEO of the company. He succeeds Richard L. Simmons, who is leaving the company after 30 years.

Mitchell i. Quain, lead independent director, commented, “We are grateful to Rick for his service and leadership over 30 years with Hardinge, including the past nine years as president and CEO. Under Rick’s management, the strong brands of Hardinge in the machine tool industry continue to garner great respect.
