UPDATE: Head-on collision crash in Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WETM) – The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office released new details Wednesday night around a two-car MVA on State Route 414.

On the 4th of October 2021 around 8:40 P.M., the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 414 near the Village of Watkins Glen for the report of a two-car head-on accident with injuries. Both drivers were transported via ambulance at the time with non-life-threatening injuries. One driver went to Schuyler Hospital, and one went to Robert Packer Hospital. The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Watkins Glen PD, New York State Police, Watkins Glen Fire Department, Beaver Dams Fire Department, Schuyler Ambulance, Tyrone Ambulance. The investigation is still ongoing.

WATKINS GLEN (WETM) – 18 News on the scene of a crash in Watkins Glen tonight.

A head-on collision was reported around 9:00 p.m. on State Route 414, where multiple agencies were called to the scene of the crash. The highway is currently closed from the intersection of County Route 16 onward.

Bright lights were flashing about half a mile down the road from the intersection. Officials on the scene did not disclose any more details of the crash.
