TROY, Pa. (WETM) — One woman has been arrested following a large police presence at the Troy Motel in Troy Friday afternoon.
According to an affidavit provided by the district magistrate’s office, Lisa M. Winebarger, 55, was arrested on drug manufacture and delivery charges.
Police had set up an operation where they purchased a controlled amount of drugs from Winebarger.
The affidavit states that During the week of June 13 through 17, officers met with a confidential informant stating they would be able to purchase crystal methamphetamine from Winebarger.
Winebarger had instructed the CI that the Troy Motel would be the place of the transaction. On the date of the sale, the CI was given a pre-recorded amount of money and was instructed to travel to the motel to do the purchase.
The CI told police that when they arrived at the motel they had gone into the motel lobby area/defendant’s apartment where the money was exchanged for two “8 balls” of methamphetamine, approximately 6-8 grams.
After the sale, the CI turned the drugs over to Pennsylvania State Police where it was transported back to the barracks in Towanda and tested positive for methamphetamine.
Winebarger was arrested Friday and charged with one count of Manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or delivery, a felony.
She was remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2022, in Troy.
A large police presence was seen outside the Troy Motel in Troy Friday Afternoon.
Multiple vehicles, including Pennsylvania State Police and Troy Borough Police, were seen in the parking lot of the motel.
A reporter at the scene said officers were searching multiple rooms sometime after 2 p.m., but it’s unknown at this time the reason for the search.
Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda is in charge of the scene and aren’t releasing any information at this time.
