Hopefuls press their luck while benefiting local fire department at annual raffle

Local News

Many turned out today for the Bath Volunteer Fire Department’s annual gun raffle.

Many hopefuls entered over some food and beverages, hoping to go home with one of 11 prized rifles.

All raffle proceeds help benefit the fire department.

The fire department’s public information officer says that the raffling of these rifles is no different than if someone were to buy one from a store.

The vendor was present and winners had to pass a criminal background check before claiming their prize.

There will also be an all-you-can eat breakfast the last Sunday of every month for $8 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Those proceeds also benefit the fire department. It will also hold bingo games on the first and third Mondays.
