Hornell burglary investigation ends in arrest

An investigation into a burglary of a South Division St. residence on May 2 ended with the arrest of Gary R. Mullen III of Canisteo.

It is alleged that Mullen unlawfully entered a South Divison St. residence and stole property values over $1000.00. One of the items stolen from the residence was a firearm. 

The Steuben County Police Department adds that Mullen allegedly stole a 2004 GMC pickup truck from a residence on Seneca Road North.

Mullen was discovered in possession of the truck in Rochester, N.Y. and transported back to Hornell.

Charges include Burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C-Felony, and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a class E-Felony.

Mullen is awaiting arraignment on the Hornell charges and faces further charges with other agencies.

Hornell Police were assisted by members of the Steuben County Sheriff Department.
