18 News Today co-anchor Elizabeth Worthington and New York Sport & Fitness trainer Heather Maio checked back in with Nicole Bailey this week. We introduced you to Nicole last month, as she embarked on a new fitness journey ahead of her wedding in October. Nicole also wants to have a baby after she gets married, and wants to be as healthy as she can be to carry her child.
In the past month, Nicole has lost 4.5 lbs of fat, and gained 1.5 lbs of muscle. She says something that helped achieve that was increasing her calories and fluids in small increments.
“It’s a little backwards and something that scares a lot of people,” Heather said. But, it works!
Nicole also said she began lifting heavier, which she and Heather discussed in this week’s episode of Move It Monday.
Heather says increasing the weights you lift and increasing your calorie intake should go hand in hand. “Your body was probably saying, ‘hey, feed me’!”
