The final school bell of the day can present a number of challenges for families and at the top of the list sits after school activity.
However, thanks to the efforts of the Expanded Learning Network of the Southern Tier, after school programs are available to keep kids away from trouble and engaged in fun, learning environments.
Local officials gathered as ELNOST held their 3rd annual “Lights on Rally” today to showcase the opportunities that are available to families and the importance of community engagement.
“Studies show how important it is for the parents and the families to have a safe, productive environment where their kids can learn and have fun,” Assemblyman Phil Palmesano said. “That gives them a lot of piece of mind and that’s something we should be supportive of.”
ELNOST offers a number of opportunities in science, community service, robotics, tae kwon do, poetry, and much more.
