Leticia Astacio has re-opened her law office after being removed as a judge.
In a Facebook post, Astacio said, “Without further ado, the law office of Leticia D. Astacio is open and ready to provide the zealous representation you’ve been without. Specializing in criminal representation in Town, State and Federal Court from Rochester to Buffalo. Also accepting other matters on a case by case basis.”
That Facebook post has been shared hundreds of times.
Astacio was a successful attorney prior to be elected as a Rochester City Court judge in 2015.
In 2016, Astacio was arrested for drunk driving. In the aftermath of that arrest and later her conviction, Astacio faced a number of other struggles, ultimately resulting her being removed from her position earlier this month.
Astacio still faces losing her law license if convicted of a felony in her gun charge case. In that case, officials say Astacio violated the terms of her probation by trying to buy a shotgun. Her attorney however argues that the law doesn’t prohibit her from buying a shotgun, just other firearms.
