Friday, May 31 is World Tobacco Day, an internationally recognized day meant to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco, and also to serve as a call to action for local policies to reduce tobacco consumption.
Two local organizations in Elmira are answering that call. The Southern Tier Tobacco Awareness Coalition (STTAC) and the Economic Opportunity Program (EOP) are joining forces to host a luncheon to discuss the impact of tobacco on residents in the city of Elmira.
The discussion will take place from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the EOP on Baldwin St. in Elmira.
