Local Red Cross volunteers deployed for Hurricane Florence disaster relief efforts.
Red Cross volunteers from east to west will be meeting up in some of the most hard hit of areas affected by Hurricane Florence.
Lorraine Morris caught a flight, Friday afternoon, to aid in diaster relief efforts along the Carolina coastline.
When it comes to disastrous events like Florence, the more help, the better.
“This is all hands on deck, I believe we already have 750 volunteers there and I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a lot more before it’s finished,” Morris, a disaster services technology volunteer for the American Red Cross in the Finger Lakes Chapter, said.
Morris was supposed to fly out Thursday, however, a hold was put on her travels due to the uncertain path of the storm.
She said both the excitement and difference she makes,in disaster relief efforts, are the most rewarding parts of the experience.
