A favorite local restaurant is closing down after 50 years.
The Shingle is permanently closing their business after dinner service on May 31.
Husband and wife owners, Delcine and Jim Chemileski, are sad to close down but happy they could bring a smile to the people’s faces.
Delcine told 18 News that they are ready to retire to spend more time with their family and start new hobbies.
The restaurant first opened in 1969 and was owned by Delcine’s father but as he got older and sick, she took over The Shingle.
Both Delcine and Jim have been operating the restaurant for the past 30 years and had been perfecting their most popular item, Fish Fry.
The couple would like to thank everyone who has always supported the business and will miss their customers.
