Local vendors are spreading awareness about suicide prevention.

They set up shop for the Choosing Hope Fair in Hornell Saturday.

It’s a chance for people to shop while supporting suicide prevention efforts in the area.

It’s all part of the Steuben County Suicide Prevention Coalition’s efforts to raise funds to provide workshops, support groups, and prevention training for local school districts..

“There’s a lot of folks around here that have been affected by suicide, by loved ones, students, maybe people they worked with, that kind of thing,” said the coalition’s chairperson Jessica Frawley.  “The message really is that we can work together, try to prevent as many suicides as much as possible and to provide support to those that have been affected by suicide.”
