Man arrested after animal cruelty investigation

Local News

Paul E. Jones Jr., 38, of Rathbone is facing multiple after an animal cruelty investigation, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office received a tip in June 2019 that animals were not being fed at a location in Cameron Mills, New York.

Twenty-four live animals were recovered from the location, and evidence suggested several deceased animals were on the property.

The animals were treated and classified by a licensed veterinarian.

Jones has been charged with 18 counts of overdriving, failing to provide proper sustenance, all misdemeanors, and was issued an appearance ticket in the Town of Rathbone Court.

The Finger Lakes SPCA provided assistance and animal care during the investigation.
