Elmira police arrested a man following a shooting that took place in the City of Elmira early Sunday morning.
Michael Dumas-Jones, 27, of Elmira, was arrested Sunday at approximately 4:20 a.m. for criminal nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor following a shooting at 421 E. Washington Ave.
According to police, Dumas-Jones has maintained a premise where persons gather to engage in unlawful conduct.
The Elmira Police Department has responded to Dumas-Jones’ residence seven times in the past six months for shootings.
Four people have been shot inside the residence during this time frame.
A 32-year-old Elmira man was shot multiple times while inside this residence at approximately 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning.
The victim is currently being treated in a local hospital for serious injuries.
Police have not identified the victim.
