(WETM) – The signature of one of Elmira’s most famous residents and one of the greatest authors of all-time was recently found in a cave.
Signed by Samuel Clemens more than 150 years ago, the signature inside Mark Twain’s Cave was discovered in July and recently verified by historians.
The cave is located in Hannibal, Miss. where Twain lived from 1839-1853.
There are more than 250,000 signatures inside the cave, most of which come from over 160 years worth of visitors.
