Several school districts in the region have just received purchasing contracts to buy meat from farms that use little to no antibiotics. The new meat will be served in school lunches and is a better alternative to antibiotic filled meat. Overuse of antibiotics in animals and humans can produce bacteria that can cause untreatable infections.

A local group of students are helping babies in the NICU. After successfully raising $400 in a radiothon, students from Horseheads Intermediate School along with Wink 106’s Scott and Ally will present the check to the Childrens Miracle Network 

A project to fix the damage from last year’s floods starts today, but it will also affect your commute. The project includes embankment stabilization and roadway reconstruction along route 187 in Wilmot Township. The work is expected to be completed in October.
