Multiple people injured on “Silver Bullet” at Darien Lake

Local News

Multiple people suffered injuries while riding the “Silver Bullet” at Darien Lake Saturday evening.

The incident was caught on camera by a viewer who tweeted a video of the incident. Officials said it happened just after 5 p.m.

Park Manager Chris Thorpe said several guests sustained injuries as the ride was coming to a stop. The Darien Lake Medical Team treated them on scene for minor injuries. Thorpe said the “Silver Bullet,” like every ride at Darien Lake, receives a standard daily inspection.

After injuries were reported Saturday evening park safety crews completed another assessment and found the ride to be working safely. Thorpe said the park reopen on Sunday at 11 a.m. and the “Silver Bullet” will be operational.

It’s unclear specifically what caused the injuries, but one Darien Lake spokesperson told reporters it was not a ride malfunction.
