At it’s Tuesday nights Elmira City Council officially swore in Thomas Krebs. Krebs and his family have been residents of Elmira since 1981.
He’s retired from the insurance industry and does not plan to run for a full term this November. He says he’s looking forward to serving the people of the 1st district and shared with 18 news how he got the post.
“I’m really happy and optimistic with the direction that the city has taken. We sit on the sidelines and we think we can make decisions, but its good to get off the sidelines and hopefully, I can make a difference,” said Krebs.
Krebs replaced former city councilman Jim waters. Waters stepped down earlier this month citing personal reasons.
