Some new projects will be in the works in Downtown Elmira.
110 North Main Street and an old law office building on Baldwin Street will become a mix of apartment and commercial spaces.
The projects are expected to yield roughly 30 new apartments combined.
The price tag is roughly $1.8 million.
It’s all part of the downtown revitalization efforts to encourage a more “live-able and walk-able community.”
“Exciting for the community, good stuff, part of the plan, we’re going to keep executing on the plan,” Michael Krusen, President of Southern Tier Economic Growth, said “I think people will really start to see some new solid development downtown and working toward that goal of making Downtown Elmira a more vibrant community.”
Krusen added the projects are state funded. The apartments should be ready in the next 12 to 18 months.
