A New York State agency director was arrested Sunday night after she allegedly drove drunk down a street in Colonie.
Police say 56-year-old Sheila McBain was driving drunk and texting Sunday night, when she hit a utility pole and flipped her car. She then tried to flee the scene on foot.
It took Colonie police five minutes to arrive on scene after a witness called in the accident. Police used K-9 units to help track down McBain on Watervliet-Shaker, about half a mile from where she crashed.
Police administered a field sobriety test on Watervliet-Shaker road before arresting McBain for DWI, leaving the scene of property damage, and operating a vehicle while texting.
McBain is due back in court on January 7th.
