Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Ontario couple on Saturday while responding to suspicious condition complaints in the town of Huron.

Deputies arrested 22-year-old Riley Griffith Rust and 25-year-old Sarah Riedl.

The complaint said the suspicious condition had taken place on Brick Schoolhouse Road near Route 104.

Deputies said they received complains of a woman going to a house asking for hot water for her baby but no car or baby was seen by the complainant.

Deputies located a car near the Brick Schoohouse Road and Route 104 intersection in the driveway of an abandoned house.

According to deputies, drug residue and paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, deputies found there was another incident that occurred earlier in the evening in Ontario.

It is alleged that Rust and Riedl used heroin while in a McDonald’s parking lot with their 3-month-old daughter in the back seat.

Deputies said the couple then proceeded towards Wolcott where they came in contact with deputies.

Riedl and Riley were charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Their child was transferred safely to a family member.

Rust was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Huron Town Court to answer the charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree.

Both were remanded to central booking to await arraignment on the endangering the welfare of a child charge.
