The Chemung County Legislature voted in favor to give the legislators a three-percent pay raise in 2019.

The vote passed Monday night with a 10-5 vote.

County Legislator Ken Miller, who was not re-elected to the county legislature, told 18 News he voted in favor of the proposal. He said county employees get roughly a three-percent pay-raise each year.

He also cited the work legislators do outside of the meeting chambers, such as committee meetings and attending special functions on behalf of the county.
