A suspect is on the run after robbing the Northwest Bank in Westfield, P.a.and police are now investigating.

The man police said they are looking for is a white male, roughly six feet tall and weighing between 190 and 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie during the robbery.

At 2:56 Tuesday afternoon, the Westfield Borough Police Department said it got a call about the robbery at the bank on State Route 49.

The suspect demanded money from a teller and police added he then jumped over the counter taking an undisclosed amount of money, escaping west on foot.

Elkland Police, as well as the Tioga County Sheriff and the Pennsylvania State Police Forensics Unit provided assistance. They taped off the outside of the bank with police tape as officers dusted the countertop for fingerprints.

Police said the man was unarmed and was not recognized by the bank employees. There were also no reported injuries.

One person who was waiting outside said a relative was inside the bank at the time of the robbery.
