Police Searching for Suspect in Coldiron Fuel Robbery

Local News

Police are searching for a suspect in connection to Coldiron Fuel’s robbery on Sunday night.

Elmira Police Officers responded to Coldiron Fuel on E. Church St. in reference to a robbery. The first officers on scene spoke with the employee who said the suspect entered the store and acted as though he was going to buy something.

When the clerk rang the item up and opened the register, the suspect reached over the counter, took money from the drawer, and then fled the store. The clerk was not injured during the incident.

Police are searching for the suspect who is described as a light skinned black male, approximately 6 ft. tall, and having a mustache and beard.

The suspect was last seen wearing jeans, a white sweatshirt with writing and a red baseball cap worn backwards.

Although the incident is similar to Sunoco’s robbery from Monday morning, it has not been confirmed if they are related as of yet.

The Elmira Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the department at (607)737-5626 or the tip line at (607)271-HALT.
