Two West Coast men are in the Bradford County Jail this afternoon after authorities find 200 pounds of marijuana on a plane they landed in Towanda.

Customs and Border Protection had been tracking the plane that Matthew Roesner and Paul Riggie were traveling in since take-off in California. Shortly after landing at the Bradford County Airport Wednesday evening, K-9 units were brought in and a search of the aircraft was conducted. That’s when Pennsylvania State Police found 40 packages containing nearly 200 pounds of pot, a large amount of cash, a pistol, and additional ammo.

Investigators also learned that Roesner is a commercial pilot with Compass Airlines. He is now alleging that Riggie paid him $10,000 to fly the plane from California to Boston.

Both men are being held in the Bradford County Jail on $500,000 bail. During their preliminary hearing, set for January 31st, they will face various charges involving drug paraphernalia, manufacture with intent to sell or deliver, and unlawful financial transactions.
