Political Talk: Robert Mueller

Local News

WELCOME TO POLITICAL TALK WITH LESLIE DANKS BURKE AND TOM SANTULLI.

ROBERT MUELLER, WHO LED THE INVESTIGATION INTO RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE IN THE 2016 ELECTION, SPOKE PUBLICLY YESTERDAY FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE RELEASING HIS INVESTIGATION REPORT.

WHAT MUELLER SAID YESTERDAY IS DIFFERENT FROM THE INTERPRETATION BY HIS BOSS, ATTORNEY GENERAL ROBERT BARR, LAST MONTH. MUELLER SAID, “IF WE HAD HAD CONFIDENCE THAT THE PRESIDENT CLEARLY DID NOT COMMIT A CRIME, WE WOULD HAVE SAID SO.”

LESLIE, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE DEMOCRATS’ NEXT STEPS?

TOM, YOU SAID LAST WEEK THAT YOU THINK TRUMP SEES IMPEACHMENT AS SOMETHING THAT WILL STIR UP HIS BASE AND THAT THOSE ON THE FENCE MAY LEAN TOWARD HIM. DO YOU THINK TRUMP’S RIGHT? WOULD IMPEACHMENT HELP THE REPUBLICANS?

THAT’S ALL WE HAVE TIME FOR. SEE YOU NEXT THURSDAY ON POLITICAL TALK.
