The New York State Department of Transportation announced today that bridge painting work being conducted on Interstate 99 at County Route 5 (Clendening Road) in the Town of Lindley will require a ramp closure.
Starting at 7am on October 17, 2017 and ending at 5:30 pm, the south bound on-ramp will be closed to traffic during those hours. Motorists will be detoured onto Clendening Road to Indian Hills Road. Take a left on Indian Hills Road and proceed 1.8 miles to the north, to Route 417. Take a left on 417 West. Signs will direct traffic back to Interstate 99 South. All other remaining painting work for this bridge is anticipated to be completed on October 27, 2017.
The project will consist of bridge painting of the primary and secondary members. While this work is taking place, traffic on I-99 will be maintained by lane closures in one lane.
Motorists may encounter flaggers, lane shifts and could experience travel delays. It is imperative that motorists remember this season to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter.
