The Steuben County Legislature will discuss a plan to set up a Child Advocacy Center for children experiencing child abuse and neglect.
The county said the new center would allow children a safe place to talk about problems and issues to a team of social and medical workers, as well as law enforcement. The plan would also include a mobile unit to provide assistance in more remote areas of the County
The center would go up in a vacant building at the Ira Davenport Hospital. A three-year New York State grant will help pick up the cost.
The plan will be discussed during the Steuben County Legislature Meeting on Monday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will take place inside the Legislative Chambers at the County Building in Bath.
