SUNY Corning Community College is hosting an Education Summit on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7 to address the nationwide teacher shortage, inspire educators, and recognize those who are already doing outstanding work in local schools.
The two-day summit is taking place during National Teacher Appreciation Week, which runs from May 6 to May 10.
The summit also features a presentation entitled “Become a Catalyst for Change,” by keynote speaker Erin Gruwell, authort of “The Freedom Writers Diary: How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them.”
Teachers who were nominated as an “Outstanding Educator” will also be recognized.
