The SUNY board of trustees recently voted to raise SUNY tuition by $200 starting this fall.
The Gannett Albany Bureau reported that tuition next year will be 63 percent higher than it was 10 years ago.
According to SUNY, even with the increase in tuition, SUNY schools are cheaper than 28 other state colleges.
Some students, if they fit into the correct financial category, will still be offered free tuition through the SUNY school system.
This is a developing story and 18 News will continue to update you as this plan gets closer to being brought into action when the Fall season arrives.
