Suspect under arrest after home invasion, multiple police units respond

Elmira Heights Police responded to an armed break-in Saturday evening at a home in Prescott Avenue.

Police Chief Rick Churches told 18 News the suspect is now under arrest.

He added the incident happened at around 7:00 p.m. and that the robber was barricaded for a time.

Chemung County Sheriff’s Deputies and New York State Police Troopers were also on scene to provide assistance.

Police cars have cleared the area, but the chief said the situation is still under investigation.
