Show me the money! There are currently two budgets that were put before taxpayers at the Odessa- Montour school board meeting on Tuesday.
The first is a $17.2 million budget that would include many academic and athletic opportunities for students across the district. It is a 2.32% increase from last years budget but is still below the tax cap.
There’s also a proposed $16.9 million capital project, which looks to do rehab of structures that are outdated such as windows, the roof, and classrooms. Superintendent Wood is excited to get started.
“I’m very excited for the opportunities our kids will have as a result of our budget, so I can’t wait,” said Superintendent Chris Wood. “I’m really excited for voters to come out on May 21st. I’m very excited to have people come out and tell us what they think.”
If the capital budget gets approved, the district looks to break ground within the next 2 years.
