On Monday, April 11, the Elmira Water Board construction crews will be working at the intersection of Davis and Warnick Streets, replacing a small section of water main. This will result in traffic delays and will limit traffic to one lane in the work area. Please follow the direction of the Elmira Water Board flagger and please use caution.
Work will begin at 7:00 am and end at 4:00 pm, at which time traffic will return to its normal pattern. This project is expected to be completed in one day.
Drivers in Bradford County are advised that a water main replacement project by will continue Monday April 11 on Keystone Avenue (Route 199) in Sayre Borough. Work will be performed weekdays and possibly Saturdays during daylight hours from Valor Street to Lockhart Street. There will be lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone. This project is expected to be completed in July.
A project to install a turn lane on a section of Route 6 in Wellsboro Borough and Charleston Township, Tioga County, Pa. is set to begin next week. Work includes widening and resurfacing the roadway, guide rail and storm sewer upgrades, the installation of new signs and the placement of pavement markings. The bridge over Charleston Creek will receive an epoxy overlay. Work starts approximately one mile east of the intersection with Route 287 and continues east to approximately 0.25 miles west of Route 2018 (Cherry Flats Road). There will be no long-term traffic restrictions during this project. However, short-term lane restrictions with flaggers providing traffic control should be expected during certain phases of this project. This project is expected to be completed by early November.
