Third Annual Veterans Appreciation Day unites community; honors fallen

Veterans and their families shared a day to honor those who served.

Monroeton Pennsylvania was where the northern tier veterans group hosted their third annual Veterans Appreciation Day. 

There were quilts of honor presentations as well as a special recognition for world war two veterans. 

One Navy Veteran said he is proud to have served. 

“I spent four years in the navy, I joined in 1965,” said American Legion member James White. “It’s always nice to a veteran to know you are appreciated. It’s nice to know that they love their country,” added White.

White said this is a big event for the veteran community and was thankful for the strong turnout. It’s events like these that bring the community closer.
