2019 is right around the corner and you can believe there will be a plethora of new laws in the New Year.
First, we’ve all heard about the minimum wage increase. Wages in New York will go up on December 31, 2018.
Second paid family leave is expanding. Starting January 1, 2019, the number of weeks eligible employees can take to bond with a new child, care for a sick family member, or assist loved ones when a family member is deployed abroad on active military service increases to 10 weeks.
Third is mandatory sexual harassment training. New York employees must undergo sexual harassment training seminars every year beginning in 2019.
Lastly, restrooms will require changing tables in public bathrooms. Businesses, including restaurants, stores and movie theaters, as well as state facilities, like parks and DMV offices must having changing tables. Changing tables will be available to both men and women,
