Tioga man charged after damaging utility pole, leaving the scene

FARMINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WETM) – Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield investigated an accident on Elkhorn Road that damaged a utility pole and left live wires on the road.

According to State Police 52-year-old Rodney Gilbert struck the poll on Elkhorn Road near Farmington Hill Road early Monday morning while driving a 1998 Chevrolet Corvette. The utility pole broke in half and live wires were on the roadway.

Gilbert allegedly left the scene of the accident and his disabled vehicle was found two miles from the scene.

Witnesses at the scene identified Gilbert as the person responsible for the accident.

Gilbert was cited for the accident and was not transported to the hospital.
