Troy man sentenced for DUI crash that killed pregnant mother of two

BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WETM) – A Troy man has been sentenced for the February DUI crash that killed a pregnant mother of two and her unborn child in Pennsylvania.

Samuel Lee Corey, 26, was sentenced to a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for 21 months to 84 months (7 years) and fines of $2,500 (plus court costs). He’ll also lose his driver’s license for 18 months, an additional license suspension of five years will be imposed for a felony third degree DUI.

The sentence was made consecutive to a Homicide by DUI sentenced imposed for 8 3/4 to 25 years for the death of Ceaira Lynn Kirkner.

Kirkner, 26, of Troy was pregnant when she was ejected from her vehicle after colliding head-on with Curtis on State Route 6 on Feb. 4, 2019.

The two-vehicle crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of Porter Rd. and Sylvania Rd. in Columbia Twp.

Kirkner also had two female children in the vehicle at the time of the crash ages one and five. A GoFundMe for Kirkner raised over $5,500.

Corey refused treatment at the scene.
